Jayleen Hernandez
Hi, my name is Jayleen Hernandez, and I am a student at Arizona State University. I am majoring in animation with proven skills in creating detailed animations and illustrations. I chose to major in Animation because I have a passion for character design and bringing my characters to life. I am proficient in various animation software such as Adobe Audition, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Animate, Maya, and Adobe 3D Substance Painter. My work explores the intersection of narrative and design, using elements such as line, color, and composition to bring ideas, characters, and moods to life. Whether I am creating editorial illustrations, children's book art, or conceptual pieces, my goal is to craft imagery that invites curiosity, connection, and reflection. At the beginning of my artistic career, I began with drawing portraits of people around me and sketching various subjects. Over time, my art has evolved to include animations, character designs, and cartoon illustrations. While many artists may work in similar styles, I believe the quality of my art brings a unique perspective to the table. I enjoy experimenting with both traditional and digital media, allowing the subject matter to guide my choice of technique and texture. In my creative process, I prioritize clarity of message alongside visual impact, always considering how each piece communicates with its intended audience. In my designs, I capture aspects of my life that have influenced me, such as family relationships, self-identity, and social issues. These themes are reflected in my character designs and illustrations, which I bring to life through intricate details, heartwarming storylines, and aesthetically pleasing attributes. I strive to create new ideas and characters that may have never been seen before.  I was drawn to animation and illustration over other fields because I enjoy designing my characters and bringing them to life!
